Our school only offers 4 and 5 days. Find new school?

I’m a SAHM and my 3yo attends a preschool down the road from our house. Next year, the options are for 4 or 5 mornings only. I prefer 3 days so we can do outings and play dates. I do like the school and it is so convenient.

Would you stick to the same school and just pull her out occasionally?
Or would you find a new preschool?

In the last year of preschool, they only offer 5 days per week. My one friend who sends her child there for pre-K said she chose the afternoons so that she could have mornings free.

Ideally I would like 3days per week for when she is 3 and 4 days per week when she is 4(turning 5).

We liked our school enough that I sucked up the cost in this situation. I put him in the 4 day, paid for it, but only sent him for three.

For me park of it would depend on age. So my kid had a summer bday and was a young 4 for pre-k. I did 3 days a week. if she happened to be born in Sept-Oct and be almost 5 at the start I pay have done 5 days a week.

In your case if its mornings only I would be ok with 4 days w week next year and then 5 days for the year after ( I think thats what you said) you will still have your afternoons free for playdates and outings and by that age your kid wont be napping anymore.

I feel like if your child really likes the school and his/her friends there, you should stay there. It may come to the point where your child prefers to be there over outings and play dates because your child finds it fun and his/her friends are there.

I guess it depends on what else the hypothetical new school has to offer? So I'd look around and see what was available and weigh the pros and cons.

I do think it's fine to miss a lot of preschool if you stick with the first one.

Ughh I am in the same situation. The school is only offering 5 days for last year in Pre-K. It is so so costly. We are considering switching to another school but she has been attending this school forever. I wonder if our kids go to the same school, OP! lol

Same here - the 4YO class at my son's school is only 5 days/week, where he was going 3 days/week in the 3YO class. We pay for 5 and send him 4 days/week.

If you like the school, do 4 mornings a week and pull her out when you want to.

Convenience trumps in this case.

+1.

My son is in a pre-k/4K that is 4 mornings per week and 2 of his classmates (out of a class of 16) miss one morning each week so only go 3 mornings per week. If you can afford it and not feel too terrible about paying for more than you’re getting, I’d stay there.
