What's your most effective acne medication?

Or regime?
When I breakout, I get one huge gigantic disgusting white-head and can't get rid of it. What medication do you use for these monsters? I'm done having kids and breastfeeding so I can finally do something "stronger." yippee!

If it's just "a breakout," that's not acne. If you truly have acne, get antibiotics from a dermatologist.

Pro-Activ. It works.

A second vote for proactive.

Tetracycline and doxycycline worked for me. Go to a dermatologist.

I use Tea Tree Oil. It's really the ONLY thing that worked on my face. You can buy it at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods.

My skin was breaking out like crazy and my dermatologist prescribed me epiduo. It worked really well. I used it every night for about 3 months and now my skin looks great. I don't use it anymore. Now I wash my face twice a day with a neutrogena wash that has salicylic (sp?) acid, and in the morning I use Burt's Bees acne control moisturizer, which also has salicylic acid. In the evening I use the neutrogena wash, then Philosophy's Save Me lotion with retin-A, and a nighttime aveeno moisturizer on top of that.
