Concord Hill School

Does anyone have an opinion on Concord Hill? Thanks!

I've heard that it's a good school that is a hidden gem. I have also heard that it has about zero diversity. And I've heard that most of the families there come from Upper Northwest D.C. That's all I know--I hope it helps.

I'm a Concord Hill parent, and I would say the above is about right, except that the families come from Bethesda/Chevy Chase/Upper NW, not just upper NW. Diversity maybe 5%? Not zero, but not high. Despite the lack of diversity, wonderful school.

(BTW, this thread should probably be in the private school forum.)

How does diversity help a school like Concord Hill? It sounds pretty exclusive and it works fine in this manner.

OP, wanted to know what people had heard about Concord Hill--and lack of diversity is one of the things that people have noted. While it sounds like diversity may not be important to you, many people do think diversity is important in selecting a private school for their children.

21:51, don't you know? It's diversity above all else in the private school forum. That's why the topic is always raised first, ahead of curriculum, teacher quality, etc.

We're applying our child there this year, and one of the things we like is that it doesn't seem exclusive at all--for example, it doesn't require testing the way most other schools do. Also, the people there were much warmer and welcoming than at other places we looked at.
