New to to the area with my almost 4yr old. Looking for recommendations for play based preschool for my DC. A Welcoming school with caring teachers and kids are most important as this will be the first school my DC wil attend. He was some with me until now. He is very bright but is a bit shy and more of a quiet and reserved personality (not high energy). Anywhere in Fairfax country would be fine for recs. We live next door to Merrifield mosaic area but don’t mind driving time of around 30mins if needed. Thanks in advance! |
My son attends Fairfax United Methodist Preschool and we love it. Warm environment, caring teachers, good mix of free play with circle time and projects. My son is also kind of reserved and he has been very happy there.

A friend sent her daughter to Epiphany in Vienna and loved it.
https://epiphanypreschool.com/ A lost of people also like Apple Tree or Apple Tree II in Vienna. |
DD had a great experience at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church preschool in Vienna. This was a few years ago but I'd bet it's still excellent. Caring environment, observant teachers who seemed to "get" each child as an individual, good facilities. |
Lots of moms in my neighborhood (Jewish and not) rave about the JCC on little river turnpike.
I wanted Montessori for my son, so we ended up at St. Mark's in Springfield. |
If a preschool with a focus on the outdoors appeals to you, Eastern Ridge is in Vienna. We were too far away to send our child, but I've heard good things. https://www.easternridgeschool.org/ |
+1, DD was there a few years ago and it’s great. |
Vienna Baptist was awesome. |
Friends that I know ok that area have sent their kids to Vienna Baptist, Wesley, Annandale co-op, and Cedar Lane Montessori. All have seemed happy. |
