Columbia - any DC in NW interview yet?

Columbia alum interviewer. The interview assignments are pretty much random - no relationship to chances or any assessment of the application. There are far too many regular decision applicants for us to get to. So while lots of interviews have happened, there is a good chance strong applicants never get asked to interview. Remember, in the regular decision round, the real burden is on interviewers to give a good impression of the Columbia to persuade the few admittees that Columbia should be their first choice.

Rest assured that your application isn't going to be harmed if you don't get a chance to interview. In fact, a noticeable proportion of RD applicants decline interview invitations and some are counseled not to interview on Reddit, College Confidential, and by athletic coaches.

Another Ivy interviewer here. Please don’t suggest declining the interview. It’s not a good look.

OP, it’s true that not every applicant will get interviewed. Our interviewers interview about 75% of applicants from area schools. The admissions team is used to reading folders without interview reports.
