| Does anyone have a great recipe for creamy mac & cheese they'd be willing to share? I'm pregnant and craving and my old standby baked version isn't doing the trick |
|
We've made this without the lobster. So creamy and tasty...

This one is the best I have ever had, with bacon and onions... http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/12/fancy-macaroni/

I made Martha Stewart's recently, YUMMY!

| is this something that would freeze well? |
| My favorite creamy mac and cheese is the Cook's Illustrated stovetop recipe. You'll need a website subscription to see it, though. I craved it during pregnancy too! |
I think that if you reheated it in an oven right from the freezer and not the microwave it would be ok ... I always find that microwaving mac and cheese causes the cheese to separate and you get an oily mess. Anyone have any other thoughts on this? |
| I agree PP. It does separate. The bottom of the plate/bowl turns into oil and just doesn't taste the same. |
| It's not to everyone's liking, but my grandmother used to make Mac and Cheese by mixing Campbell's condensed Cheese Soup with some real shredded cheddar...it was creamy and avoided the oily mess. |
| Check out Paula Deene's recipe on the food network site. She has one for creamy mac and cheese that is a crock pot recipe. It is really good and makes a lot. |
| I don't have the recipe, but I saw Ina Gardner make a yummy looking one with bacon. |
I find it helps if you add just a splash of milk, and then after warming it, stir the milk in, it works pretty well. |
