how much does IVF cost at SG?

My insurance covers IVF up to $10K per calendar year (also covers meds separately, so they're not included in the $10K) and I'm trying to figure out how much I'd have to pay out of pocket.

This would be for a fresh cycle, but also if anyone knows costs for FET that would be good too.

About $9K for IVF out of pocket plus another $1k for ICSI if needed. I think with $10K available you should be able to pay for a full cycle from beginning to end.
This includes everything but cryopreservation and storage in the event that you have extra embryos from the cycle (about 30-40% of women do).

FET is (I thought) disproportionately expensive----about half of a fresh cycle although it is much simpler.

Insurers negotiate prices with SG that are lower than what a person paying completely out of pocket would pay. My insurance paid 50% of IVF costs and at SG, that worked out to about $4100 per cycle (this included ICSI), which I would assume meant that the insurance negotiated rate per fresh cycle with ICSI was $8200.

Every insurance has negotiated a different price so it depends on your insurance. Out of pocket last time I checked was:

I would just add the cost of medications, which can be substantial if not covered by your insurance. I don't think the PPs included meds in their totals. I just finished a couple of IVF cycles at SGF and I am pretty sure they were about $9k NOT including meds.

PP is correct --the costs listed are just for the IVF not meds. I paid about 4k for meds when I did a cycle (that was supposedly at 50% cost but Aetna jacks up the price so you are really paying full price).

Thanks. My insurance does cover the meds, separate and apart from the $10K limit for IVF. (Ironically my plan does not cover IUI at all, but they still paid for all the meds for IUI!)

SG quoted me $3134 for a cycle without ICSI or AH..and that did not include the price of drugs, which are covered by my insurance and would come out to be $200 per cycle..
