Any employers out there willing to confirm what they see on the back end of an indeed.com posting? Or LinkedIn?
Asking because I was contacted recently about a job I "saved" in my indeed portal. I was actually looking from a competitive perspective, not interested in applying. How much do employers know about who is viewing their job postings? |
No one knows? |
I am pretty sure they can. I have been contacted out of the blue, quickly, by employers whose jobs I looked at on LinkedIn but did not other wise pursue
I think their business model basically assumes that if you want to know if people are looking at your profile or job post, they can, for some $$$ |
+1. I don’t work in hiring, but I assume companies can know when you click on them |
Anyone manage a firm's Indeed.com account? |
The only two cents I can offer is LinkedIn charges a LOT of money, many thousands of dollars, one would think employers can see that information.
I currently just started ramping up my job search and I too am now getting a ton of unsolicited emails, just from going to the various websites like Indeed and Ziprecruiter. I also turned on my open to opportunities tab on LinkedIn that's supposedly only viewable by recruiters. Which also indicates to me that they make what OP is asking possible and probable. |

So, if your current employer has recruiters/HR dept., then they can also see that you are open to other opportunities ? |
They can see it in the back end. One time I saved a job posting and I got a call from the recruiter before I applied. |
HR would not be doing its job if they didn't track their own employees on LinkedIn and other sites. Of course they can see. What they do with that information is the question. |
Nope. Nope. Nope. HR leader here....professional/financial services consulting firm....we do not track what our employees are doing on LinkedIn or Indeed. They can look at any jobs they want and we don't know. However, on the back end, if I have posted a job I can see who has viewed/saved/applied. We don't reach out to those who only viewed, but we might for those who saved (if their profile makes them look well qualified). |
Have you done the best you can on LinkedIn settings to be anonymous? |
