HELP! Moving to Silver Spring and need a daycare

Anonymous
Hi! My family and I are moving to Silver Spring in March. I have a 20 month and I’m also expecting in August. I would love a daycare that I can send both kids to. Please send recommendations. Thank you so much!

Four corner’s area. I work in Rockville, near Aspen Hill.

That is very hard in SS. Few centers.
Goddard, quality time, karasik, bright horizons, mcca at forest glen, ymca for 18 months and up are about it.
I luv in woodside and most did inhome or a nanny share.

Circle time might work too. But especially for an infant it’s tricky, and there are a ton of in homes around here (we used two over the years and they were great and amazingly fantastic, respectively).

Maybe consider a nanny, esp for two?

Try Bright Eyes Early Learning Center at Viers Mill ES. No personal experience there but it seemed like a good program and might work with your commute. Can't promise they will have a spot but they don't seem to have crazy waitlists like some other places.

People get on waitlists as soon as they learn they are pregnant around here. You'd have to get lucky to have a spot open for an infant on short notice, particularly since you would want a spot for an older kid as well -- although those aren't quite as hard to come by.

You will probably enroll the older kid at age two, when spots open up, and then use that kid’s sibling preference to get the baby a spot around his one year bday. That’s super common.
