Fair skin with cool undertones -- help me go brunette

I am a lifelong blonde. When I was a kid I had naturally platinum hair which has now dulled to a blah dirty blonde. I occasionally highlight it but I am so ready for a change.

I am continually drawn to the warm brown with caramel highlights but these seem to only be for warm tone skin. Does anyone have any pictures of beautiful color that will work with fair cool tone skin?

This is me. Brassy colors or rich browns look bad on me. I need ashy blonde. My natural color is a dark brown that has no Auburn tint.

I find this look to be just so very unattractive. It's mean to look natural but it's anything but. It looks like they're trying to segue grey into being blonde even though they were never blonde. OP, I'd consult with a top colorist. Where do you live? I may have some recs.

Definitely cooler, ashy brown. Warmer brown would probably bring out the cool tones in your skin too much

OP here: i am not far from Bethesda... I worry the ash colors look too gray!

you need ashy brown. That's my natural color and it looks good with my fair skin. You'll also need different makeup. Not foundation, but probably brighter lipstick and eyes.

what? no it doesn’t. it has a bit of green in it but no gray. ash blonde is the answer.
