Did u agree to induce after 39weeks despite no complications? What was the induction experience like? Did you take an epidural ?

41 years old. No complications. Induced at 39+2. Cervidil overnight the first night. Next day on Pitocin. Water broke 2nd night. Epidural overnight. Healthy baby the next morning with 20 minutes of pushing.
Doesn’t happen the same for everyone, but it ended up being a great choice for me. |
| I have birth at 40 yo and 40 weeks 3 days. I went for non stress tests starting week 38 and the baby was passing them with flying colors. The induction only involved the Foley bulb which came out 20 minutes after it was put in and then my body took over. Had a great birthing experience (with an epidural). It was my second and everyone says those are easier for what it's worth. My first was not induced and came at 40 weeks on the dot. |

I was 40, had induction on my due date. Had pitocin w/o an epidural, so it can be done.
FWIW, it was recommended that I be induced at 39 weeks, 0 days, but I couldn’t get a slot. |
| Age 41. My OB wanted me delivered before 40 weeks. I went into labor on my own at 39 weeks exactly. |
| It’s so individual for everyone. You’re going to hear a total range, Op. |

44 yo. induced on due date. Cervadil put me into labor, so no pitocin. I was at fully displayed when they came back to check me and healthy baby was born about 30 minutes later.
Had my first at 40. I asked to binduced bc was in labor for 4 days at 38.5 weeks. Baby was face up and wouldn’t turn and despite full on contractions for days I was at 1cm. Excruciating pain and no food or sleep Doc was able to turn baby after Things progressed a little more. I liked the second experience much better. |
| No. My doc said I could go to exactly 41 weeks.. pregnancy was uncomplicated minus being an “elderly” first time mother at 42. labor began 5 days before due date. |
| At 41, did a scheduled c-section at 40w1d. At 44, my dd was very anxious to get her out, so we did a scheduled c/s at 39w. |
Pp here, “dd” should be “dr”. |
| Yes. I was 44 and induced at 39 weeks. I wanted her on the outside so I could see if something was going wrong. That was just my gut feeling. The morning I was scheduled to be induced, I started to feel different somehow, so I might have been about to go into labor naturally anyway. |
| i was 45 with #3 and induced at 39.5 for #2, i was 41 and induced at exactly 40 weeks. |
| At 45 had a scheduled CS at 39 weeks |
| I had just turned 40 when I gave birth. OB recommended inducing b/w 39 and 40 weeks. I was induced at 39w2d and gave birth the next day, completely healthy baby at 6 lbs 8 oz. Currently pregnant with #2 and will do the same if I make it that far. |

I was 43, OB was not going to induce until I got to 41 weeks-I wasn't going past 41 weeks one day. I had baby right at 39 weeks so moot issue, my earliest actually, the others went past 40 weeks.
I personally, was not going to agree to induction before 40 weeks, unless there was indication from the non stress tests or other reason. Not just for being old. |
