Why does the 2020 MDX have a predicted reliability of 1/5?

per consumer reports?

Anyone have a 2019 or 2020? What happened?

I had an older MDX and it is complete trash. TRASH.

What happened with it? The MDX is ranked at the bottom with the Range Rover models and they are known to be horrible. Is Acura good about repairing under warranty?

I don’t know OP. I’m interested in one too. My SIL loves her 2014 and has had NO issues, not one.

"The Acura MDX has had below- to well-below-average reliability since its light redesign, also called a freshening, in 2016, as has the redesigned 2019 RDX. The brands dropped nine positions, the biggest fall in this year’s rankings." Not my words, from Consumer Reports comments about 2019 ratings

How so?

I think it has to do with the transmission. I have a 2008 and it’s still going strong. Buy an old one.

Same issue as the minivan?

There seems to be a reliability problem with recently made Hondas and Acuras as a group.

Honda has had issues with their transmission. It’s been garbage lately. It’s been poor in all Honda made models for the last 4 years now. That’s why the reliability is taking a major hit.

I wonder hoe long until their reputation suffers?

Same thing with Subaru. The CVT transmissions are just absolute junk. Predicted failure rates before 100,000 miles are into the low teens percentage. That is an unfathomably high number of failures. That would've been inconceivable even 10 years ago.

That’s abysmal. So will these cats be worthless before 100,000 miles?

From what I can tell, the MDX doesn’t have a CVT.
