We are looking gfor vacation ideas for April 2010. Our kids will be 3.5, 21 months, and 21 months. All boys. The 3.5 does not napy anymore, but the younger 2 take an afternoon nap. All go to sleep by 8pm. The younger two like to eat sand so I've been nervous about trying the beach.
We did manage to take them to NYC last spring which we enjoyed. Other ideas? Ideally we'd like someplace with babysitting so we can go out to dinner a couple of times after kids are asleep. |
| Don't know anything about babysitting, but some places we've taken our kids when they were young include North Carolina Outer Banks area, Disney World, NYC (which you've already done), Ocean City (which would be awful in April), Natural Bridges, VA, Williamsburg, VA, San Francisco, and cruises to the Carribean. I can't think of any trip that hasn't been successful. The only thing is that we too deal with nap issues and so we try to go places where one of us can take the non napping kid(s) while the others sleep. |
| Great Wolf, Wintergreen, Seven Springs, San Diego (my personal favorite). Rent a condo or house, so you can cook, and have separate bedrooms for the kids, and still cuddle up with a good book or movie after they've gone to bed. Kingsmill Resorts in Williamsburg has babysitters on staff. If you can wait until June - I highly recommend Tyler Place Family Resort in Vermont. |
| Sanibel island. We did this when our kids were that age. We flew into Ft Myers. The beach has no waves and there are tons of shells to pick up. Condos are plentiful and cheap. |
| I think any beach would do. All kids (and grownups) LOVE the beach. |

I would go to Disney in Fl or San Diego in CA. You could also do SeaWorld in CA. You can rent a condo or timeshare in both locations or stay onsite at Disney in a villa, there's plenty to do, babysitting, pools, day trips to the beach plus as much down time as you want. Both would be non stop flights, decent rental car rates.
Heard good things about the FDR resort in Jamaica, I think they offer your own nanny. |
