I just musing over why people were getting so worked up to the point of being nasty about people they don’t know. Someone asked me a question and I was going to go back and answer but could not find the post.
How did I upset you Jeff? |

It was probably among those removed that were discussed here:

I don’t recall “attacking” any poster. It was my only post and I just wondered how someone could present suppositions as facts and use them to attack a complete stranger. Why were his/her mean attacks on M allowed and anyone who disagreed with their meanness removed. Isn’t that what healthy debate is about? I’ve been on DCUM almost since you started - waaay before you quit to do this full time and you will know I never attack nor am I nasty to anyone. I’ve seen many many a nasty post that been left alone. Are we not allowed to disagree anymore even when we are not nasty about it? I’m confused about the delete policy. |
First of all, mellow out. It was a single post, not the end of the world. There are far more important things in life. Second, I have no idea what post was yours so I can't give you specifics. If you have been on DCUM as long as you say, you would know that I can't read every post on the website. Therefore, posts that should be deleted often aren't because I don't know about them. Today I received several reports about the M and H thread. I saw that many posters were attacking another poster. As I said in the other thread, those posts were all talking about the poster, not the topic of the thread. From your description of your post, it sounds like it was also discussing other posters rather than M and H. I removed all those posts in an attempt to get the thread back on topic. Since that thread is over 300 pages, I haven't read the vast majority of the pages so there are likely other posts that should be removed that I haven't read. |
