My daughter was just invited to the Top Scholars weekend for U of SCs Honors College. She would like to know:
If your child was invited to this weekend, What other schools they got into and if any merit aid was offered Where they ended up going Thank you. |
|
Southern California?
South Carolina? |
| Why doesn't your DD ask her GC this question? Or, check on College Confidential or Reddit? |
Your response applies to every post on this board. U of South Carolina It is a very small pool. Only 45 out of 33K applicants, so it is difficult to gather data. |
|
USC = University of Southern Cal.
U of SC = University of South Carolina |
If you want to get technical, the University of South Carolina was founded first, in 1801, and therefore is the “real” USC. |
Yes but didn't go. Came off the list as more merit offers came in from better schools. |
Thank you. |
| I think that Top Scholars is impressive, OP. I wanted my DD to apply to South Carolina. |
| Has U of SC gotten more popular recently? If so, why? |
Merit offers. Using Bama and Pitt strategy |
Yeah, but they’d be in...South Carolina. |
yep... for 4 relatively short years. Then they could move away, anywhere, debit free and with a degree. |
Yeah but still... 4 years in... South Carolina.. with MAGA folks |
| And several kids from our HS. Who are not MAGA. The place is becoming more popular with folks from the border states. |
