Does anyone have a good story about getting through betrayal in a marriage?

I messed up. I lied to my partner about something hugely important and now I am so scared that I have lost him. Did anyone have success with marriage counseling?

Words aren’t going to help right now, because trust is gone. Focus on your actions, showing you recognize partner’s feelings on this, trying to heal him/her and changing yourself.

You can try counseling but I can get you they’ll never fully trust you again.

This is not a marriage problem, this is a YOU problem.. Don’t compound your error by blaming it on him.

Go to individual therapy to figure out why you lied, instead of facing conflict and negotiating. Practice with your therapist how to tell him the truth and prepare for and accept his response.

You messed up. You might very well lose him, but part of being honest is understanding that you can’t control his response.
