i9 Sports Leagues

Has anyone tried these for their dc? They have flag football, basketball, and soccer. Just wondering how the quality is since the practice is the same day as the game, which is kind of unusual ?

My DS played i9 flag football about 8 years ago when he was 9. It was a great experience. He had played a season of full tackle football and hated it. It was too intense and not fun for an 8 year old who really just wanted to throw a football. The i9 team was with several of his friends and it was a very positive, fun, recreational experience and the time commitment was perfect. We'd drop him off at the field, go grab a cup of coffee then come back to the field to watch the game. 2 hours on a Saturday and we were done for the week.

Both my kids played flag football with i9 and really enjoyed it. They already play other sports more seriously, and this was more of a rec league. It is super easy with the schedule being the same place and same time each week. Their experience was very positive and very inclusive.

My son (7yrs old/2nd grade) is doing basketball through i9right now and so far so good. I like that it is all in one day for the sake of scheduling. I do wish the practice portion was a little longer. 30 min is not much time, but a great place to start for younger kids who are just learning.

I like that even during the games the main coach will blow his whistle and stop playing to give the kids pointers, tell them something to focus on working on or teach them something new.

It’s just something for the kids to do. They won’t learn much about technique or pick up many new skills.

Its something to do. IMHO its a waste but its useful to tryout a completely new sport with minimal commitment.

Agree - good to try a new sport and better for younger kids. Not for something that you want to start really investing in and developing competitively. Fine if it is to stay active and keep a controlled schedule.
