DD 4 has long think curly hair and when I take her pony tail out in the evenings, there often is dirt where the pony tail holder was. I know washing hair everyday isn’t good, but I feel like it gets dirty so easily. Maybe it’s just her age. |
2X / week
She gives me a tough time. I would like to do it more. |
Daily |
We do every other day usually. Sometimes every 2 days. How often are you currently washing it? |
2x a week forever, myself included. Quick baths the other nights if sweaty/stinky. We have dry hair that would turn to straw if washed daily. |
About three times a week but more would be better. If I saw visible dirt I would wash.
I have curly hair and wash daily. It's fine, just use a good conditioner. |
Same aged child with long curly hair - I rinse it out with conditioner every night and wash it with shampoo and conditioner every other night. |
Nearly 4yo DD with straight but thick hair. Every other day. |
Once a week. Very fine, dry hair. |
Every 3rd day. The pattern is: 1st day: Wear hair down/ half down. Nice and clean! 2nd day: Wear hair in ponytail. Still decent. 3rd day: Wear in bun. Definitely on its last leg. |
For someone with very curly hair, you should do the no poo method often. Just use conditioner and not shampoo. It will still clean the hair, but not strip it. Shampoo every other time. |
Three times a week. You especially need to be careful with curly hair. |
Every other day - one child has thick straight hair, the other has fine wavy hair. I use shampoo+conditioner on the first, and co-wash the second. |
Once a week for curly haired 2 year old. In between washings we rinse with water only or with conditioner. When you rinse but don't shampoo, you can still get quite a bit out, including dirt. Massage the scalp and then rinse/condition. |
Co wash daily. We might skip 1-2x week if not dirty. |
