Hello, I am interested in the La Petite daycare just outside the Washington Hospital Center/Children's National. I will be working at the hospital as of July 1st and so this will be very convenient. If anyone has any info on this school I would greatly appreciate some inside advice. I just need to know if its clean, safe, and that the kids are well cared for by the teachers. Thank you!

The daycare is safe and clean and the children seem relatively happy. My child attends there right now. My only problem with the center is that it's very clinical: they tell you exactly how many times your child poops during the day and what hour it took place, but don't seem to be that invested in actually playing with the kids. I'm staying there through the spring, but plan to move my daughter in the fall in the hopes of finding a place a bit more engaged in activities.

I haven't had any personal experience with La Petite, but I do work at CNMC. Last year (while pumping in the lactation room at the hosptial a fellow employee told me that she was happy with the care her toddler and infant receive there.

I think there are a lot of mixed reviews about the place on DCUM.

Sorry, what does "bump" mean? Good or bad?

We used the center for a year and left about 2 yrs. ago so some of my info might be dated. I was pleased with it but my dd was there from age 1 to 2. I was never impressed with the infant room set up as compared to other centers. But the staff appeared to be genuine and cared for the children. Others on this board didn't care for it. It definitely is not a "new" center. It's been there awhile and so had the staff. Most of the teachers lived in the general area and was always open regardless of weather, holidays, etc. Alot of staff at the hospitals used it. Have you taken a tour? What age is your little one?
