Replace builder grade pedestal sink in powder room?

I know this is a question that comes up a lot but... what do you think? I just like the idea of having a cute cabinet in there and a level counter where things don’t slide off, but DH thinks what we have is fine.

I hate pedestal sinks. Go for it.

Rip it out and smash it on the doorstep of whoever invented pedistal sinks. Yuck.

No. Pedestal sinks look much better and powder rooms.

I don’t like pedestal sinks, but I wouldn't change one in the powder room unless the lack of storage and surface area was causing a real inconvenience. We looked at a house with one in the only upstairs bathroom... that was unacceptable for multiple reasons.

I think it depends on the size of your powder room. If it's newer and meets ADA requirements, it's fairly large, then a cabinet can look great, especially with a marble top. But if it's small generally a pedestal sink looks better because it gives the feeling of more room. That said, I once did a powder room in a former under-stairs closet and put a tiny cabinet that went from wall to wall with a teeny tiny sink and I loved how it turned out! Also gave a tiny bit of storage.
