Where can I find recognition awards for MCPS teachers?

My DC had an amazing teacher last year. I would like to recognize her beyond the Principal!

Write a glowing letter to the principal and area supe. They will see that she gets nominated.

I was nominated by the Special Ed person on the PTA.

The Marian Greenblatt Excellence in Education Master Teacher Award: This award recognizes three full-time teachers in kindergarten through Grade 12 who have a demonstrated record of promoting student success, such as closing the achievement gap. One of the Master Teacher Award winners is chosen as the MCPS Teacher of the Year, goes on to represent the school district as a contender for the Maryland State Teacher of the Year award and could become the National Teacher of the Year. OP - it is not too late to mark your calendar for next year.

Remember that these awards are usually not just given to good teachers but teachers that go above and beyond. These are teachers that often have leaderships positions in the departments, run clubs after school, win awards for the school, etc. Honestly, sometimes these people and not inspirational in the classroom, just really good at all the extra stuff.
