Preschools in Chevy Chase

Anonymous
We are planning a move to Chevy Chase area this spring. We have one child that will go to K and one that *could* go to Preschool. She's 2 with a late fall birthday. We will have a nanny/au-pair so she can also stay home. But I think she could really benefit from a class a few mornings a week. The problem is we don't know where we will live and I think application deadlines are this winter.

We know general area and it seems like all the preschools are grouped together around the circle is that correct? We work downtown so ideally we would drop her off on way to work.

CCPS
Chevy Chase/Bethesda
CCUM

Am I missing any? What are key differences? Or do I just apply to all and see where/if we get in? Any advice/guidance would be appreciated.

I think there's another school at All Saints, too.

Are you moving to the DC or Maryland side? We were at both CCPC and CCUMC at different times. While there are kids from both places at both schools, we found that the CCPC kids largely went to DC schools for kindergarten (or preK), and CCUMC had a large cohort go to Rosemary Hills.

That said, apply to all of them and go where you get a spot!

Another vote for CCUMC. It's a fantastic play-based school, very warm community, fun parents, and great teachers. We've had three kids there and the two that have come out so far have been beyond prepared for K. Good mix of public and private matriculations, both in DC and MD.
