For my kids, doesn't matter how old but they should be intact. The refurbished ones sold by Verizon and other big companies are way too expensive. I just want to buy a used iPhone from someone I can meet in person, and maybe pay $100. How to best do this?
Try Craigslist? The trick is how to make sure it wasn’t stolen.
We upgraded our phones and gave our kids the old ones.
Swappa - I've bought used phones on this site for my kids.
I buy used/refurbished on Amazon. I am usually buying two models back, so the market isn't as competitive.
I buy them on ebay.
Swappa. I'm on my 3rd used phone for the family. No issues.
What model are you looking for? |
Ebay, but would second the suggestion for a refurbished. Problem with a 'used' phone is battery life. Batteries have a relatively limited recharge limit. After say 500x recharges they begin to lose efficiency. Might be more cost-efficient over the next 3x years to get a phone with a full capacity battery.
You're basically setting your kids up to have a stolen phone if you're only willing to pay 100 bucks and want to buy in person.
IPhone repair shops have them. Bought one for $190
Swappa is good. Some sellers will specify the battery health in the description. A lot of them are cell phone repair shops, so they'll note that they replaced the battery. I have an original Pixel that's about 3 years old. The battery, however, is only two months old and works flawlessly.
I have a 5SE I'll sell you cheap, if you are interested.
Consumer Cellular sells refurbished iPhone 6s’s for $100.
Swappa is the safest place to buy used phones. Least chance of getting ripped off. Ebay and Craigslist are the wild wild west of used phone sales.
