Diet, Nutrition & Weight Loss

Tell me to get it or not to. Here is my story.
I work out 5-6 tiems a week. usually videos. Think daily burn, fitness belender. A lot of equipment free HIIT and medium weights. I enjoy it. I'm wordering if I need a pelaton for better cardio/weiht loss. I like high energy, so think i would probably enjoy. It is pricey though. Thoughts? |
| If you're already working out that much without some kind of pricey motivation, I don't think it'd be worth it. I've done it at a few hotel gyms, and while I like the novelty of something different, it's just a plain ol' bike without the subscription, and I don't want to feel that kind of lifelong obligation to a subscription |
| Do the 30 day free trial and see for yourself! The problem with asking here is that you'll get lots of Peloton users (including me!) saying it's amazing, and lots of Peloton non-users saying that it's not worth it. There is only one way to find out.. |
| If you like working out alone in your own home, then yes, it would probably be a good addition (a regular gym-goer that doesn't like the idea for myself but have seen people benefit). |
| I went from Beachbody on Demand/Daily Burn stuff to Peloton and havent looked back. SO MUCH BETTER (and they have all those kind of workouts too on the app) |
| Do you like stationary bikes? Do you like the physique they give you? |
| No. it's a bike. Big deal |
If your goal is fat loss you are fooling yourself if you think more cardio or different cardio or a $2k bike will be the answer. For fat loss the biggest factor is diet and a having calorie deficit. That said if you love cycling and what to make it your main form of exercise then go for the Pelaton. -Signed, someone who spent years thinking i need to workout harder or find the right exercise to lose weight when in reality I just needed to "really" get my diet in check and be honest about how many calories I was really consuming. And yes I thought I was eating right and healthy during that time. I was just eating too much. |
Tell me more! What’s better worse? Do you feel more in shape? |
This is the truth and what no one ever wants to hear. You’re overeating calories. For real. That’s the whole story. More working out won’t fix it. |
Like the other poster - I'll lose weight only when I eat less, full stop. I LOVE the Peloton though. It's fun - barely feels like a workout - instructors are amazing, friends on the leaderboard, challenges to sign up for, etc. You will never meet someone who went for it and doesn't love it. It's so addictive. |
| Do you feel stronger, more toned (not in a weight lifting way, i know i would still need to continue lifting) |
| Hopefully you’re done starting new threads about Peloton but you’re spelling it wrong. |
You're right. I count three threads with Peloton spelled incorrectly in each. FFS, OP. Just get the thing already. |
| OP here- haha, it is true. I just have so many questions and I realize that there are probably 100 old threads on PELOTON (!) that I'll go read now. Thanks for the push. Here is to a healthy 2020. |
