Mams anti colic 4 oz bottles

Anonymous
FTM planning to breastfeed but want to keep a few bottles handy for night feedings by DH and just in case breast feeding does not work. I have 4 mams 4 oz bottles with size 0 nipples and 3 gerber bottles - all free samples. is this enough to start with and then buy as needed if DC refuses to take them or should i buy some dr browns or other kind of bottles? Also formula - where can i get small packets to keep as a backup?

MAM brand worked great for my kids (from newborn to 1.5yo)- adjusting nipple and oz size over time as needed. We used their pacifiers too, so my DDs were used to the nipples. Maybe get 1 other brand of bottle if you are worried about the baby refusing the MAM nipple, but purchase somewhere where you can return if it isn't needed. Also, hospitals will give you some small bottle formulas with their own nipples, so you will have another option if you ask.

My advice from experience: Don't go overboard purchasing a ton of bottles at the beginning- you really only need 1 or 2 at first if you are breastfeeding. Later on if you use formula and send to daycare, etc., you will need more.

Not sure about the small packages of formula- sorry!

Comotomo bottles worked best for us, and they are super-easy to clean. If you need formula just as backup you can get the small bottles of ready-to-feed.
