Can we gossip please about Mick Jagger?

I find him oddly alluring as a human and as a performer. I want dirt, gossip, stories, info...anything!

Ah, yes! Supposedly Mick doesn’t drink or use drugs or smoke. Travels with a trainer and adheres to a very strict diet and exercise routine. Mick’s father was a physical education teacher and lived into his 90s? Read something about how many calories Mick burns through during a typical concert - he eats well but has maintained his very thin physique. Forget what he weighs but something like 130 pounds. He is tiny like a jockey.

I think he wears a wig.

PP and sorry post is not at all gossipy. I am fascinated that he has remained virtually unchanged physically and that he has gone with the same look for decades.

His assistants in the early 2000s had to speak fluent French, know how to drive, manage the collection he had accrued of costumes and stage paraphernalia from his year in the Stones (like a museum waiting to happen) be on call 24/7, book at least 3 different versions of holiday travel plans each Christmas and summer for his family to throw off the press and not have kids or family commitments of their own. And he paid them 35,000 uk pounds sterling for this job. This was as I say in the early 2000s.
I worked in a company in London that recruited his assistants.

PP again. So he’s taller than I thought ... 5 ft 10 and 160-175 pounds.

He used to smoke, drink, and party. He’s also had heart valve replacement, so he’s not the poster boy for good health.

14:43 PP. Apparently Mick affects a Cockney/working class accent as part of his rocker persona. Earlier interviews he is heard using his decidedly more posh, proper British accent.

Why Fluent French?

He owned (not sure if he still does) property in France and the assistant was required to negotiate with staff / suppliers etc there etc.

Yes he looks just as hideous now as he did when he was young. Why anyone would want to see that old man prancing around on stage is beyond me.

Yep. Contrary to their image, the Stones were from fairly posh backgrounds. The Beatles, on the other hand, weren't (with the exception of Lennon). George was from what he called the Liverpool equivalent of the Bowery, and Ringo was from practically a slum. Paul's neighborhood was a little better, but definitely working class. They just *seemed* a bit more put together (per the image Brian wanted them to portray).

Read some Rolling Stone biographies if you want all the dirt.

Maybe compared to the Beatles, but Keith is from a very working class family and Mick’s was only slightly more posh. I don’t think Brian’s family was very posh, he was pretty trashy at a young age (impregnated several women before he was even 20 and didn’t recognize any as his kids).
