How to find in-home daycare?

Hi everyone, Basic question here but, first-time Mom (so bear with me). How do you find in-home daycare options? Are they listed somewhere through DC licensing? Word of mouth? These boards? Appreciate any leads in the Adams Morgan/Dupont/West End/Georgetown area. Thank you!

Talk to people. Often the good ones seldom need to advertise.

If you are in a church, people oftentimes find theirs through the church. Another place people find theirs is through coworkers.

Also, there are very few (if any) in homes in those neighborhoods.

Search for DC Childcare Connections — they have a whole database and you can also call and ask for help finding one near you, and you can read their inspection reports too.
