looking for an affordable daycare (if there is any ![]() any suggestion is welcome.. Thanks in advance folks.... |
Define “affordable.” |
OP are you new to the area? What is affordable? How old is your child? What is the care you have now? |
affordable = 1000 usd/month
daycare for 3 month old, possibly for 3 years... all suggestions welcome |
1000/month...yikes. |
yikes as in "too high?"
or yikes as is "too low, good luck with that"? ![]() |
The second one. You'll probably want to look for an in home daycare. |
The latter. OP, could you do a nanny share? The three year old will be easier to place than the infant. Are you in DC already or planning a move? |
I know, just trying my chances, you never know.
DC is one of the most expensive cities in the world for infant care, even NYC is less expensive. |
That’s too low even for an in-home daycare. |
Yes I don't know any full time care that is that low. I am at the most affordable in home daycare I know in the close in VA suburbs and even that isn't that low. You will not find quality care at that price OP, it just doesn't exist. I'm sorry. |
You need to double your budget, at a minimum, for full time care of a 3 month old. |
+1 I generally wouldn't trust any provider that accepts $1k in this area for a kid under 5 y/o. OP outside of moving out *far* into the burbs, you may need to rethink your budget, take a hit on savings, ask for financial help from family or/and consider a parent staying home. |
In Cleveland Park you’re looking at a minimum of $325 a week for an in-home daycare and it’s much more for a center. |
325 is a steal...and I'm talking about from where I'm at out in Vienna. |
