MD in-home daycare question

Sorry, pressed submit way too soon. If I want to open an in-home daycare I must reside in that home. If I didn't it I would be out of compliance and it would be a daycare center, which has it's own set of rules. |

| So if you have an in home daycare already (where you live) but want to open another daycare in a second property, how does that work? Do you need to find someone else to live there? |

| I worked at a home daycare where the owner did not live there. No one else lived there. She had it set up like she did (bedroom, clothes, etc) but didn’t stay there. Not hard to pull off. No one is knocking on your door at midnight to make sure you are in the bed there |

I know someone doing this too. I elected not to enroll my child there, because all it takes is one disgruntled parent or assistant to report them and it gets shit down. |

Are you asking for yourself? If so, contact your specialist. I believe that you would not be allowed to do it that way on the up and up, or you would need to open up a center but you may not be able to do that in a residential area. And yes, if your specialist/ the state suspects you are doing something illegal they will show up at off hours to inspect.
