Where to live for work in San Jose?

Anonymous
I am in the running for a job in San Jose, and struggling with the idea of where to live. We are a family with a kid in middle school. Looking to spend up to $1.5 mil (could probably go a little higher for the right place) and ideally would get a place with good schools, , reasonable commute to San Jose (1 hour or less) and some kind of yard. Appreciate any insight or ideas. Thanks.

Mountain View. Parts of Sunnyvale (not cupertino school district though) and Santa Clara. I think these are the only places that have reverse commute to San Jose and decent schools.
I don’t like cupertino school district because it is too heavily screwed in favor of one race.
Los Gatos, south San Jose are good too but the commute??
Evergreen is a mixed bag.
Los Altos is great if you can afford it.

Almaden Valley. Good schools and commute is not bad. You can afford a decent house. Willow Glen is also where I’d look..a bit pricier but nicer.
