According to figures released by the Virginia Public Access Project, Buta Biberaj, the winner of the Commonwealth's Attorney race here in Loudoun County, received $861,039 in donations from the "Justice and Public Safety" PAC, which is funded entirely by George Soros. The amount received by the Biberaj campaign from the Soros group accounted for 78.8% of the $1,092,892 received by the campaign.
Soros also bought the Commonwealth's Attorney slots in Fairfax and Arlington counties. Rather scary, when you think of it. |
| Why is that scary but the NRA funding candidates is not? |
|
Not nearly as scary as Russians, Chinese, UAE, Saudi and Israeli money buying the White House, the AG and the entirity of the GOP.
Let's start by passing legislation banning foreign money in US elections and then get corporate money out of US election and then get a functioning FEC to enforce the laws. At the moment, only Soros is the target of all of this. I wonder why? |
| Please clarify, OP. You are criticizing the influx of big money into American politics, correct? It's not the particular source of the money, what you can't stand is that there are such pacs funding our campaigns. |

What’s scary to me out in Loudoun are the numerous racist issues—remember the old school that was painted (and many more instances too numerous to list), I could go on. Loudoun has a lot of soul-searching to do. |
I don't favor ANY "big money" PACS making donations to candidates for public office. If it's a PAC that gets hundreds or thousands of small donations from the voters, I guess I would be okay with that. But when you have one person who injects huge amounts of money into a campaign to further his own political ends, then no. That's not okay. The only way to stop people like Soros from having undue influence in political campaigns (and by extension, influence with political office holders) is to prohibit political donations over a certain amount....$200 maybe. No one should have the kind of influence that Soros now has in the political / criminal justice system in Northern Virginia. He owns the Commonwealth's Attorneys in Loudoun, Fairfax, and Arlington. |
Do you live here? |
Grew up that area and left for diversity and culture and to avoid raising my kids in that bubble |
Don't know what "numerous racist issues" you are referring to. We have our share of morons, just like other jurisdictions in Virginia and every other state. Our morons occasionally act out. That's what morons do. But they're no more numerous or moronic than any place else. But glad you're happy where you are. Wife and I have been here since 1985. Wouldn't care to live anywhere else. |
The school house was done by non white kids. |
| What does Soros get for his 861,000?? Can he find Loudoun on a map??? Can he even spell Loudoun?? |
Amen brother. Loudoun County is a great place to live. Best of suburbs, small towns, and country all rolled into one county. Highly diverse as well. Maybe not as much as Fairfax and Arlington, etc. but a good and ever changing mix. |

Good read. https://www.theguardian.com/news/2018/jul/06/the-george-soros-philosophy-and-its-fatal-flaw
Anyhow, the rich do have the power to put people into power. That’s the way it’s always been. Anyhow, Soros is now focused on transforming local justice systems at the ground level by getting nominees of a certain mindset elected. So far, he’s having tactical success. It remains to be seen what the consequences of his strategy will be in the long run. |
