I've got a list of day cares in front of me and I am wondering if anyone might have time to weigh in on some of these options. I am in search of infant care for next winter...

Don't know if this is too late. I have only visited one of these, the Cherry Blossom Day Care. I walked away very sad because by and large the children seemed very reserved and timid. My husband and I have been visiting a number of facilities and this is the first one where the children have been obviously cautious and almost untrusting. Perhaps it was just a bad day to go on, so make your own decision. Just wanted to provide my perspective. |
Hi,
My son went there for two weeks in September of '07 and it was a horrible experience. I took him out the second week he was there. It was especially hard since I had just started back to work and he was so little (on 3 months old). I could go on and on but the most severe issue was the complete lack of communication with the staff. For example, on his daily sheet it said that he was drinking all his bottles for a few days. I talked to a teacher though and she said he wasn't eating anything. When I questioned her about the sheet - she said that they said "all" because they were pouring the remaining milk out. How ridiculous is that??? It makes me really angry just thinking of it again. Also, one teacher said that my son cried alot like "someone had hit him." Okay NOT the wording you want to use with a new parent. In general, it seemed like the teachers were extremely underqualified. I am at the RCC now and love it. I sincerely hope you don't go through a similar experience with any daycare. In addition, they recently got a violation for giving a toddler second degree burns after heating her food up to hot in the microwave. This daycare is not equipped for infants!!!! |
