Coffee lover question

Does anyone have a coffeemaker that (1) grinds the beans fresh each time and (2) brews both regular coffee and espresso and (3) also froths milk? If so, what brand and model is it and do you recommend it?

We've had these in the past and I don't recommend them. If either the grinder or the brewer breaks, the whole thing is useless. And their expensive. We've gone back to a nice, programmable coffee maker and a separate, small bean grinder. Better to have two pieces that do what they're intended to do well.

Thanks, PP. We currently have a grinder and brewer combination, and we like it. It's great to set the timer and hear the beans grinding first thing in the morning. It gives me strength to get out of bed! I was wondering if anyone has one that also does espresso and froths milk. I was hoping for the whole range of coffee options to feed my habit.

OP again. Just wanted to add that I do see the drawbacks. But I would love to have just one coffeemaker on the countertop instead of the regular one and the espresso maker. I could do one without a grinder, if anyone can recommend one.

Capresso makes very good coffee makers with built-in Burr grinders. They're slightly more expensive (around $220) but also totally worth it because they last much longer than less expensive brands. My first Capresso coffee maker with grinder lasted over 10 years and I just got a new one. It didn't work out of the box, so I called Capresso (not the the store where I bought it) and they sent me a new machine right away with a return UPS label to send back the one that didn't work in the box the new one came in. Super easy, no questions asked. Capresso may make machines that also make espresso and froth milk, but I expect they'd be extremely expensive. Espresso also is a separate process, so a machine that made that and coffee would be quite large and maybe not worth having on your counter unless you have espresso and coffee every day. We have a separate, small espresso machine that lives in the cabinet until we need it (maybe a few times a month).

I have a Delonghi Magnifica and I love it! The only thing is that it doesn't make regular coffee, but we don;t drink drip coffee anyway, so it doesn't bother us. We have a drip maker in the cupboard somewhere in case we have a party too large to just make everyone an espresso or latte. Guests are usually psyched to have a latte or espresso rather than a regular drip coffee anyway.

It was expensive but I have saved a fortune by not constantly hitting Starbucks. I can make better coffee at home, so there is no need for Starbucks. It's so liberating!

Thanks, all. (OP here.) We have a Capresso with the built-in burr grinder, and we do love it. I think 11:12 is probably right about the cost and size of the machines that do everything. I think I'll stick with what we have for now. But when we need a new espresso maker I think I'll look into the machine 20:47 suggested. Thanks again!

Think about having a fresh, coffee-shop-quality espresso when you get up in the morning ñ without having to leave the house. This is what your very own espresso machine can provide, but it is important to make sure you buy the right product, and know how to use it when you get it home.
Espresso is a syrupy, traditionally Italian, specialty coffee. Coffee shop owners will tell you that making mouth-watering espresso is just like pulling the perfect pint of beer. It requires patience, practice, and is much harder than it looks. Good quality espresso machines can make it easier by controlling the temperature and the internal mechanisms more exactly.
