After (what seemed to be months) of research and driving a bunch of family cars DH pulled the trigger on one. It was lumped in the category of the top ones but after a few months I am not into it and he is not either. It was a practical buy as opposed to having any of the emotional aspects.
As in we do not think it looks that cool; has nice interior- but not too much different than the other cars we considered. Anyone have quasi buyers remorse and just stuck it out or did you replace it quickly? Our previous car this one replaced was 15 years old, so flipping cars and taking the big depreciation would be a first for us. |
| What car is it? If you were to get rid of it and get one of the other top contenders, would the problem just replicate? |
| It’s gets you from point a to b. Just keep it. |
|
Doesn’t look cool?
That’s not enough of a reason to take the depreciation hit. Buy some new, hip glasses or get a reservation at the hottest restaurant. But keep the car. You’ll be fine. |
| What car? |
| Unless you have another car in mind, I’d just keep it and get used to what you like about it. If another car is on your mind, then do the math and decide if what you would lose on a sale and purchase is worth it. |
| Is it the Cube? Or the Honda Fit? |
|
Emotional aspects?
Looks cool? I’ve never bought a car based on anything except affordability, practicality and safety. I cannot relate! |
|
It doesn’t look cool? Grow up.
Unless it’s a PT Cruiser, then carry on. |
17 is too early to get married. Grow up |
| Are you just having a hard time coming to terms with spending that much money? I bought my first new car a few years ago (all previous had been used models) and I think subconsciously I expected the new car to be absolutely perfect because of the sticker price. Every dumb little thing made me regret buying new. A few years later I love my car (but I won’t be buying new again). |
| Why did you buy a car you didn’t like? How do you know the next car will be better? |
| Do you have another one in mind? |
| Maybe grow up? |
| What is the car? |
