Blighted ovum?

Anonymous
Went in for my confirmatory 7 week u/s today, but all we saw was a 5 week gestational sac and no heartbeat. According to my LMP I should be 8 weeks tomorrow.

So dr wants me to come in again next week for an ultrasound to confirm no embryo. Assuming I do not have a viable pregnancy, what is going to happen? What does a miscarriage feel like?

I am so so sorry OP. I had a blighted ovum this fall and just found out my transfer after was a chemical.

I had a D&C for my first MC even though it was only six weeks but I still bled a bit after the procedure since my RE was very careful during the procedure. for me it felt like a really heavy period with cramps that felt really heavy. I passed a solid mass of what I think was the sac but that in itself didn’t hurt - again kinda just like a period

The emotional pain though is really hard. Please just be kind to yourself and your husband, and just be there for each other. Good luck OP and be strong

Thanks for your support. Why did you do a d&c rather than the pill?

Unique situation where I had three months left of my insurance which had great benefits. So my priority was to fit in another transfer ASAP.

I heard that for a small group of women betas can take forever to go down from miscarrying naturally so I did the D&C

If time weren’t a consideration I would have mc’d naturally
