And is it possible to get a good non-toxic twin mattress for $500 or less? And one that doesn't smell for weeks out of the bag/box?
We went to urban mattress in Vienna for my older child's mattress, but the sizing is off and it's slightly small for a regular twin-sized bed, so I'm wondering if there are alternatives? |

Brentwood Home. They just started carrying it (although not all the mattresses). Naturepedic and Avocado mattresses are also great. We have one of each and are very happy. We noticed a huge difference between the traditional ones with flame retardants. |

We got the off the shelf one. It did not smell after a few days. Our latex one was over $2k as there are different kind of latex and the better one is costly. |

I was going to suggest IKEA, but for some reason, the cheapest latex mattress (under $500) does not have a twin size.

| Cozy Pure had a great product and are good people to work with as well. They are somewhat local (Norfolk) but you can order online as well. We got a new king size mattress during pregnancy and it was well worth it. |

Depends. There are many different sellers and many different ways to make a child's mattress. It doesn't need to be as thick as an adult mattress. |
