Vaccinated but with a chicken pox like rash - what else could it be?

Anonymous
Contemplating whether this is an urgent concern for the nurse line after hours on Christmas but vaccinated child and a rash that looks like pimples (white heads) everywhere except his face. What rashes sound similar?

Whiteheads aren't chicken-pox -- it's a vesicular (clear blister) on a pinkish-red base ("dewdrop on a rose petal"). You might have a few whiteheads, but most would be vesicles or scabs.

You are describing a "pustular" rash, if you want to Google.

Where is the rash area most concentrated on on the body? Is it focused on the backs of the upper arms and/or lower cheeks? Just going by odds, I'd guess folliculitis or keratosis pilaris that was aggravated by dry air.

Molluscum contagiosum ??

Would be a really bad outbreak is "everywhere except his face," but maybe.

OP, can you post a (non-identifying) picture?

Vaccinated for what? And when?

Age and other symptoms would be helpful.

This is a call for the nurse line. I’m sorry but your child has a rash everywhere except his face and you’re not calling?

Could it be gutate psoriasis? Folicultiis?

Have to go to a Derm. Urgent care will have no idea. Nurse even less helpful.

Any other symptoms?
