Blake Lively- Jason Baldoni and NYT - False Light claims

Her hair care line, Blake Brown, is still available for purchase but I haven't seen the pro-lively camp endorse, promote, or do any reviews for it. You would think with such mass support, it would be selling out in droves.

Taylor loves protecting her dragons, so there's no reason to believe there's a rift between them. Another Simple Favor was the #1 release in a non-competitive weekend, and is a wonderful investment paying off for Amazon, so Blake can expect even more offers to come in soon. Blake should be proud about her Late Night appearance, comments getting shut off be damned, because it's driving engagement and views and that's all that matters. She made the list of Time 100's Most Influential, and despite the backlash that elicited, everyone knows that list is for PR anyone, so she got a nice little boost in the media.

Incredible, love that for them.

Look, I just like facts. The fact is that the Seth Meyers interview wasn't a disaster. I watched it -- it was fine. The fact is that Blake's new movie is doing well on Amazon. I don't actually have feelings about that either way, I just know it to be the case based on having eyes and being able to read.

I have no problem with people posting critical things about Blake on this thread or elsewhere. But when I saw people posting that the interview last week was a "disaster" or that the movie is being "widely panned," my response to that was "huh, is that true?" And so I looked and it turns out that no, it is not true. So I posted what I found here because I figured other people might like facts as much as I do.

I'm sorry that reality is not playing out the way you would like it to, with the entire world uniting behind your hatred of Blake Lively. But it's not.

But it is. She's getting slammed on almost every social media platform there is.

By the same small group of obsessives. And at the same time, her career is doing fine, people are watching her new movie, and people in Hollywood have been supportive.

Which I know just absolutely enrages you, but it is what it is.

Yes. I agree, fwiw.

+1 The general public either does not like her or is apathetic toward her at best, despite the pro-Lively camp's insistence that the dislike is *only* driven by obsessives.

Gaslighting 101. And also sock puppeting 101. Never fails and the combination means that it indeed has been another very bad week for Blake.

What you don't seem to understand us that many of us support Lively in her legal battle with Baldoni, but are not "Lively fans." I don't care about her movies or hair care line. I just believe she was SHed and retaliated against.

So I can think her new movie looks like hot garbage, and be totally disinterested in her product lines (I'm a lifelong Pantene user, it's fine, and I don't drink), and still hope she prevails legally.

I'm the PP. I am not sick puppeting in this thread (you can ask Jeff if you don't believe me), and what in my comment is gaslighting? How else can you explain Lively's movie doing well and her continuing to get invited on stuff like Late Night or get defended by Paul Feig? There is a group of people who hate her,but most people don't care and it's not really impacting her career much at the moment.

We just spent several pages reviewing the dismal reviews for the movie. I'm 100 percent sure you were here for that.

Going back and watching the promotions for IEWU, it seems like she didn't know what the movie was about. She doesn't seem to know anything. It's actually astonishing. They ask her a question about Lily Bloom, she rambles about layers and textures then jumps into platitudes about "strong women". She rarely ever broached the subject of the film, domestic violence. When asked, she actually admitted verbatim she was lucky she never went through anything Lily has. Her cross examination will be one for the ages.

Can someone summarize what the issue was? I can't read this thread. Why are people so invested in it?

Her publicist getting her on a talk show has nothing to do with public demand for her work. Those talk shows are just a boring rehash of things from social media. And of course Paul Feig will defend her. He wants people to stream his movie.

The pro-Lively camp on here is generally not fans but people interested in the legal case (I'm not even a supporter, and have criticized her and even called her a liar many times and get lumped in as being pro-Lively because sometimes I defend her side or call out Baldoni's side). As far as the legal case goes, they wouldn't be arguing that her haircare line is super successful. The argument for her side is that it's been damaged and sales were hurt. She's trying to rebuild her brand, and getting attacked for whatever baby steps she's taking while promoting her new film. So I would not expect her supporters on here to be gushing about her successful line, no.

But wait, I thought everything was going smoothly for Lively and this is not a conflict that's transferred over into the real world. So which is it?

That's not what I or AFAIK anyone on the Lively side is saying. I don't see people in here gushing about her and her career going great. I see people who come in and declare every day she is over because of some random event (including how Travis Kelce looked at Ben Affleck), and her "side" saying it's not that bad. That's where I am. The suit has hurt her brand (I guess she would argue it's the smear campaign, which I agree existed, but I think that would have blown over) but I think she'll continue to have a career and won't be ruined forever and her husband probably will hardly be affected at all. That's not because I'm rooting for her, that's just my prediction.

Right. I don't really care about her acting, and less about her brands. I just think she has a legal case.

The other side to the pro-Baldoni argument above is that his movie, A Nice Indian Boy, isn't exactly killing it at the box office even though it (by comparison) has had great reviews. Less than $750,000 in box office receipts so far even though it's been out for a full month. Has it even recouped what it cost to make it (the actor Jonathan Groff must have been paid a good portion of that to appear in it)? Why aren't all the Baldoni fans making this more of a success and making it sell out in droves etc?

I did watch Another Simple Favor this weekend. It was relatively enjoyable -- I think Kendrick is a better actress than Lively tbh. I think Lively does well at sort of playing a jerk with a heart underneath, that's a role not everyone can pull off. The doppleganger was not my favorite. But I found the movie an enjoyable romp, similar to the first in spirit. I thought there were some in jokes relating to the litigation, tbh, but I might have just been reading to much into things (since I don't think Lively had a hand in the writing, ha).

Meanwhile, over on Reddit, the pro-Baldoni people are going a little insane. I haven't totally been keeping up but they seemed to be working on doxxing the pro-Lively lawyer I posted about here, and now they are mad at the Ask2Lawyers creators also because they dared to have an opinion on a legal issue that was slightly pro-Lively. All this and the leaving mean comments about Lively on people's sites etc -- it's a little off the charts. wtf are the pro-Baldoni people thinking? Take a little time, get a little perspective, etc. It's just ... a lot.
