I got my nephews nerf guns for Xmas. Is this a bad move? They are 3 and 5. |
My brother and SIL would be fine with it. Know your audience.
My kids still remember the best Christmas as the time they received marshmallow shooters. We had mini marshmallows everywhere, but the dog loved it! So fun and harmless, IMO. |
Eh, 3 is a little young just because they are still so dumb and likely to shoot themselves in the face. Eye damage is a thing.
If you are not sure their parents are OK with it you could give them a heads up so they can quietly put your gift away for another time. |
Lol the dog/ can imagine he was delighted. |
Def check with the parents, at least at that age. |
5 is iffy, but might be ok with the parents if you check, but 3 I'd say definitely not. I am NOT against them, bought my about to turn 7yo DS one for this Xmas, but having played with them at a family members house I'd say they DO pose an eye injury problem - so I wouldn't give to a 3yo personally |
They need safety glasses and parental instruction not to shoot each other in the face. 3 year old won't be able to cock a manual gun, spring is too stiff. 3 is too young honestly. |
That's too young, OP. |
Five's probably OK, depending on the child, but three is too young. |
I also think three is too young - and you need to spring for some eye protection. |
I agree it’s too young. My boys are 7 and 9. Around age 7 is when they both got into nerf a little bit. Take them back and get magnatiles instead. |
Three is way too young. Plus any kind of toy weapon should be cleared by the parents first. |
Too young. |
Guns, even the Nerf type, aren't allowed at our house so while my 3 and 7 yo's would be delighted, I would not be happy. |
Ask the parents, for sure. We didn't allow them until 8. |
