When is enough enough?

So now we have homeless casually perusing the aisles of Safeway, walking right past the toilets that are OPEN for everyone to use even when you aren't a customer, grabbing toilet paper, pulling down their pants and taking a crap in the aisle.

https://twitter.com/debkhk/status/1206359030576238592

Add this to the roaming "poop patrols" (washing down the crap in the streets), the people walking around high and shooting up in plain sight, the nutcases approaching you in the streets, and the used syringes scattered everywhere just ready and waiting to be picked up by some innocent toddler. And the fact that TB and other things are coming back from all the rats and raw human waste.

And they've decriminalized basically all property crime so that problem has exploded too.

When does it end? Who is voting these people in?? And why? It's not good for business either! The conferences and conventions are being cancelled too, because nobody wants to come anymore.

Do you think there's anything that can be done? It's so frustrating to see a beautiful city (and indeed, area) totally wrecked by a few delusional fools in power. Is there a particular contingent that's not voting for some reason? I'm struggling to understand who is voting these people in. I just can't believe that the majority is okay with this!

Awful. I’m sorry. I quit going to SF. I think I went 3-4 years ago and said never again. I live in Southern CA! So we have homeless, pot, too, but something about SF was so unsanitary. I hope people will come to their senses. I hope good, tough, fair candidates will run. People are getting pissed. Most everyone, not just republicans.

Don't you know they're mentally ill? Obviously if they were in their right minds and had other options they wouldn't do this.

I think it's kind of funny that it was in the Marina - where all the snobby rich people live. I'd have expected it at the Castro Safeway or ... maybe the Potrero Hill one.

We need to figure out why so many are mentally ill these days, and why they are SO mentally ill, when neither of these were the case to this extent decades ago. And then we need to plan for perpetual housing for the mentally ill. Because they're not getting better. And they're getting dangerous.

SOME homeless have hit hard times. Some homeless and mentally ill. Some homeless are drug addicts. But you realize that a lot of homeless are purposefully thumbing their nose at societal norms? The refuse to adult as they prefer the community lifestyle of living in a homeless encampment?

The decriminalization of property crimes and acceptance of public lewdness is a big concern for regular people. But, that is the direction that liberal communities are headed, unfortunately.

What does that mean? Things like theft aren’t arrestable offenses any longer?

Go ahead and post this in the political forum. You'll get all sorts of people shouting how DARE you judge the homeless.

I find it interesting that a lot of the homeless problems in left wing cities are due to the facts that the wealthy liberals = the one who have already horded wealth go to extreme measures to protect their status. The west coast liberal elite defend a person's right to live in squalor but just not in THEIR neighborhood.

The liberal left LACK COMPASSION when they permit vagrants to commit property crimes and live in drug and violence infested "jungles."

The hypocrisy of the left wing is amazing.

As opposed to the hypocrisy and outright abdication of any moral authority by the right wing?? Take one look at what the right wing tolerates in their "leader" Trump and then try and defend it.......

Involuntary commitment is the answer, but imagine the outcry.

I haven’t been in SF in a while, and it sounds really bad.

But this thread is acting like this grocery poop is common in SF, and that the general problem in sf is common in all liberal cities (which is pretty much all cities).

That’s hyperbolic BS.

I am sorry you just can't see the hypocrisy in the democratic party. Shame

Yes - San Francisco was filling up their jails with street people committing small" crimes. They were in a revolving door situation. Arresting the same people multiple times a month.
The S.F. police no longer do anything about property crime below a certain amount thus the reason for constant property crime and car break-ins.

I feel sorry for the good citizens just trying to make a living there.

NY is trying the release with no bail and they are quickly seeing the problems. Luckily the east coast liberals are nearly as dumb as the west coast liberals and will revert back to civilized lawfulness.

Nancy and Maxine are doing a great job.

Voting has consequences.
When will people realize that?
