Any interest in an IVF/infertility support group in Capitol Hill area?

Hi folks--

I'm a fairly new reader on these forums and a first-time poster. My husband (32 y/o M) and I (31 y/o F) have been going through the fertility testing process for the last few months and just learned that IVF is likely our only path forward. I've been looking around for support groups in DC and haven't found much luck. I work downtown and live on the Hill, and would love to find or start a group close to home.

Are there others in the Capitol Hill-ish area who would be interested in getting together once a month or once every few weeks or so, starting sometime in January 2020? If so, feel free to reply on this thread and/or PM me. I'm happy to try and coordinate a place to meet.

Happy holidays!

This group doesn't meet on Capitol Hill, but Lisa Eaves of Heal from Within runs a great group on Sunday mornings once a month.

Thanks for sharing! That's the only one I can seem to find as well. It sounds great but Tenleytown is a bit of a trek for me, even just once a month. If any others are interested in meeting up in the Capitol Hill area, hope to hear form you!

I hosted an educational support group for a year for two groups. It consisted of two 8 week sessions that went through all the ins and outs of getting pregnant and growing your family. Having been through this journey for 4 years and now on the other side of it with two kids, giving back is a passion of mine. I'm happy to help support in whatever way you might find helpful. I offered my program free of charge and am happy to consider doing it again. I'm located near Gallaudet U and in the past hosted the group out of my home. Not sure I have the energy to do the hosting part this year but again happy to help and can send you the brochure of my previous group sessions - growing families fertile ground.

Hi there--thanks so much for replying on the thread! A small group of us met once and we are planning to continue getting together. It would be great to learn more about your program and experience. Would you mind sending me a PM with your email address and I can get in touch off-forum? Thank you again!

I don't have a login info but you can shoot me an email at sakerele@hotmail.com. I'll forward you the brochure for the program I designed. Community is so important during this process which can be a long one so I am thrilled that you've taken the initiative to form a group. The group of friends that sustained me during those days were initially a group of strangers all over the US (some abroad actually) who connected over this shared journey. We stayed with each other for years until the last of us made it to the other side. We are still in touch to this day though not as often but there is no way I would have made it through without those ladies.
