Anyone else get in yesterday. Anyone have any feedback?

DS got in. Merit package is significantly less than other schools. But its his first choice and we will make it work. Congrats to your kid.

DD got in. Our guess is that the merit package seems slightly smaller than similar applicants from last year and the year before.

Just wanted to say that my DD is a sophomore there and is having the time of her life. Club sports, sorority life, and engineering? Not many schools you can fit it all in. The students are smart, but there is no prestige there. It was everything she thought it would be. The term cycles are hard, but the breaks make it worth it. And because of terms, many kids are graduating in 3 to 3.5 years when you count AP's. Some with good scholarships still stay to do their masters which takes another year, maybe a bit more. Most kids have no problems getting jobs.

Good luck!

DD got in with expected merit package. Waiting for other acceptances to compare.

DC got in with 28K/year in merit aid. I am not sure how that compares to others or prior years. Where do I find the data? It still leaves plenty of tuition.

My Dc Was offered $103000 over 4 years. Other schools ranged from $120000-140000.

Before taking any of those offers, read carefully about what gpa you need to keep the money and then read what happens in engineering grading at that school. All of our kids were good students in high school.

This is especially true at state flagships. Some flagships collect HYPSM accepts that can't afford them.

When I was going to school in western mass some years ago, WPI was filled with men.

I think the women had a good time but they also got pestered a lot.

They now give women more merit aid and have evened out the ratio..to a big extent

My D visited last year and really loved their emphasis on hands on engineering, project work, and travel opportunities. She chose another Boston school, but WPI was definitely in the running. The male/female ratio is improving and their career services was impressive.

I'm from the area and had multiple friends go there a looong time ago. All loved it, very happy there, and got great jobs right out of school. Two of them were women (which is saying a lot back then.)
