Pottery Barn Anywhere Chair

Do I “need” this? DD is 20 months and climbs everything but doesn’t have a chair or small table/chairs her size right now. Everyone seems to rave about this chair, and it happens to be on sale right now on PB. For those of you who have purchased this or another small stuffed oversize chair for your kid, how much use did you get? We don’t really do TV time yet so she wouldn’t be sitting in it in the living room. I guess it would be in her bedroom or the spare room we use as a playroom.

I know, nobody “needs” in our rampant consumer driven world, but you know what I mean.

Some kids LOVE them or there’s my kids, who never use theirs. They only really use them as walls for their fort. Like everything, it’s a crapshoot!

My kids are 4 and 7 and they use theirs all the time but not as a chair. Last night my son was using his to do headstands against the wall. It’s often used in making forts. My visions of them sitting in them sweetly reading books pretty much never came true.

My kids each have one and they used it all the time to read in or to make forts. Is it a need? Not at all. But in some houses they do get a lot of use!

My 4 year old still uses it daily. Sometimes to sit and watch tv but mostly to tumblr over/use as a cushion for her “tricks”. I love it.

Mine LOVED it! And now DC has outgrown it, it’s become the dog’s chair and the dog loves it.

I was on the fence too but they’ve gotten a ton of use (we have the oversized version). When DDs were smaller, they sat in them to read, built massive forts, and used them as part of obstacle courses in the basement. Also were doll houses for a while. Now that they’re older, they read, do homework, play on the iPad, chat with their friends, and draw. Our 2 dogs have also recently discovered they’re the perfect dog beds so I’m assuming they’ll get handed down permanently once the kids are done with them. I might or might not get replacement covers eventually since they’re very well-loved, but the dogs don’t seem to mind sitting on pastel polka dots for now.

I have 2. Never got one for my 3rd. And I should probably get rid of the two I have. But I now they use them for fort making in the basement. It depends I think it depends if you have enough room for those chairs in the Tv watching room.

^^ I did not read the other responses before I replied. I’m laughing to see fort making is such a popular use haha

We got the tiny one for when dd was little and she loved it. Purchased the kid sized (Copy cat one from ugly sofa) for her 2nd birthday and she still uses it. I fit into it kind of. We have it in the reading nook.

It’s a waste of money and other landfill fillerupper, but typical in our area.

I can count on one hand the number of times my 2.5 year old has used his, but the cat uses it daily.

Our kids read in them, use them for movie night and use them for forts and obstacle courses. All 3 have their own and they’re very possessive of them
