Proving how seldom I get there, can I turn left from Wisconsin Ave. NW onto M St. NW coming into Georgetown from the National Cathedral?
Thanks! |
| That’s what the bus does. |
| Yes |
| But, depending on where you want to go, you might be better off turning left onto P and then heading towards M on one of the side streets. You'll also find parking more easily. |

Yes, there's two left turn lanes to facilitate the heavy flow of traffic from Wisconsin onto M Street.
Even with the traffic on Wisconsin, this is a quicker route than trying to take the narrow side streets and turn left onto M from 30th or 29th Streets NW. -Someone Who Makes This Turn Every Morning |
| Yep. Easy peasy. Do it almost every day. |
| Bit of a crash there this morning though about 9:50 a.m, car ended up on sidewalk next to bank. Was about to be lifted on to transport truck when I went past! Stay alert, it's a busy intersection with complex stoplight patterns. |

Yes. It's a left turn arrow controlled turn with two lanes so not that bad.
Depends a bit on where you are heading though. I'm frequently heading to the east side of Gtown but prefer to bail off Wisconsin at Reservoir or Q Street and head into the back streets to find parking. Saves having to make a second and much more difficult left off of M onto 31, 30, 29th, etc. If you are just transiting through it's a fine option. |
