Newborn Photographer

Anonymous
We just had a Christmas eve baby girl, and we are looking for someone who does reasonable newborn photography with the possibility of using them as a family photographer at a later date as well. Anyone have any recommendations? We live in the Del Ray area of Alexandria.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Kaileen Galhouse takes GORGEOUS photos. But, she is not inexpensive. galhousephotograpy.com. She is in Oak Hill but will travel (though her house has GREAT light for photos in it.) Our DC's infant photos are stunning.

She is very easy to work with and took beautiful shots of our 6 month old.

Her newborn photography is priceless!! She likes to photograph newborns in their first week while they're still curled up. Check out her blog on her website, it shows some of her more up to date backgrounds and styling.

Loved her -- we did ours at abt two weeks old.

Very reasonably priced -- i think she could have almost doubled her price and i still think it would have been worth it

We've used littlemoon and were very pleased.

One thing I would make sure re: pricing. You will almost definitely want the ability to buy all the prints (digitally) in high resolution so that you can use as you want. There are some photographers that include in their pricing. We have also used Linda Crayton and the great thing about her is that included in a relatively low price ($500), you get all the prints digitally (high res). I really liked Linda as well (though Littlemoon was maybe a little better quality, Linda is AWESOME for the price - also great quality).
