What would you get for a 2 and 6 yo to share?

That’s around $100? My brother sent me a check for both kids, and rather than buying two smaller gifts, I was thinking of something like a bean bag chair- something that they could use every day and hopefully think of their uncle? He lives far away and I’ve been missing him a lot lately.

Get two gifts. You can get two chairs. They will fight over it. Get two kindle fires.

Mini bounce house. We had one about a hundred bucks at that age that we kept on the screen porch.

Would it be terrible to just deposit it into their bank accounts/529s? Do they need more presents? Will a bean bag chair really register with them that Uncle Ken is "present" - do they even know or have met your brother?

Sounds like you are the one that needs that tangible reminder of your brother; your young kids not so much.

Maybe I will get two chairs- that’s a good idea! We actually have a bounce house that we share with neighbors.

To the PP with the 529 comment: So we usually do put the money he sends in their savings, but I notice my husband’s siblings don’t send cash- they send not so great presents and my daughter does talk about it all the time. I mean, she’s 6. She loves presents. I want her to think about my brother. This is totally age appropriate and their is no need to shame me for wanting my kids to think of their uncle.

My nieces and nephews are 2 & 6.

When they play together it's usually with the cash register (store, restaurant, etc) and fort building so maybe supplies for that? There was a really cool looking fort kit in the top toys of 2019 youtube videos, from the toy expo, but I forget what it was called.

I'm unsure you could find two good quality bean bag chairs for $100 (?)

Tea set?

Cookbook and matching aprons? Bake cookies and send them to the uncle with a photo.

When they fight, and they will, its a perfect opportunity to work on sharing. My kids have 1 tablet and they share. They have 1 gaming system and they share. There is 1 tv in the house that they are allowed to watch and they share. They have to share most things. Why? Because they need to learn how to share and how to deal with conflict. They do have their own bikes and things that are better with two players.
