Montgomery County has twice has much violent crime (per capita) as Fairfax County

My husband and I found this to be an interesting stat. Any ideas as to why the big difference between Montgomery and Fairfax Counties?

Probably because Fairfax drops charges more ?

Neither one has levels of violent crime worthy of it's own thread.

LOL this is definitely true in DC. MPD won't take a report unless there's blood.

It wouldn't surprise me if Fairfax is juking the stats in similar ways.

Interestingly, Fairfax has a greater overall population density than MoCo. My guess is that parts of MoCo closest to DC are driving the county's crime. Fairfax has a river and Arlington separating it from DC's poverty (and the crime that accompanies it).

Because MoCo has more poor people and dense population in those poor areas. That combination = more crime. That's why Baltimore numbers are higher than MoCo. They have even more densely populated low income areas.

Mostly from rape, the definition of rape was changed in 2015 and that cause a spike due to act that were not previously reported as rapes were now reported as rapes.

In 2018 ... thanks to the #metoo movement... there was another spike.

Interesting almost 1 rape a day but Keven Lewis only report on Hispanic and school related rapes.

Weird he doesn't report on all of the them.

Bingo!

I’ve been saying that all along. Rape doesn’t bother him. It’s WHO is doing the raping that bothers him.....and his loyal readers...

Why do people have expectations of a perfect utopia in Montgomery County?

Nobody does. But for the insane level of taxes and cost of living, a greater than average return should be expected.

Montgomery County is WAY better than average. Have you ever been anywhere else in this country? And the taxes aren’t high compared to a lot of other places they are worse.

Because leftists keep promising that if just elect the right kind of democrats, pay enough taxes, import enough poor uneducated people from other countries, and let those elected politicians control as many aspects of our life as we can conceive of, then we'll have that utopia they keep promoting.

So, where is it?
