I found it helpful as I try to figure out what to do with my hair.

That could be a factor, however it is generally face shape and age that determines the best cut. Other things like showing off eyes, high or low forehead, length of neck, size of nose, etc. Oh, and also hair type.

I wonder if this explains the Paris Hilton creepiness factor? Every time I see a photo of her straight on, I feel like her face is just awful. I can't put my finger on it, but something is just off.

Hold on -- let me break out my ruler and get back to y'all.

Have heard that overall facial symmetry is the key to attractiveness. There is a mathematical "beauty formula" that supposedly determines how attractive you are, male or female. Apparently even babies are drawn to faces that are more symmetrical. The symmetry is thought to be some kind of indicator of the ability to produce offspring with a greater chance of survival. So if you have a symmetric face, you are considered attractive and have more opportunities to mate and reproduce.

What the heck is a symmetric face? Isn't everyone's face pretty symmetric? Haven't seen any cyclops recently.

Just find a good stylist:

"That may be bad news for gals who don’t conform, but the upside, says Pallett, is that even if your face isn’t perfectly proportioned, a strategic haircut can help."
