We have two girls so we've never had to think of boy names. I'm super early but my husband randomly suggested the name Noah for a boy.
Thoughts on Noah or Rowan? |
| I Ike both those names a great deal. What’s your last name? How many syllables and of what ethnic origin? Rowan is very Irish. |
| I think of Rowan as more of a girl's name but Ronan is nice. Noah is fine but pretty sure it was the #1 name in the country a few years back. |
|
OP here
Last name actually starts with Mc - I’m not aware that my husband’s side has any bit of Irish heritage. He’s actually mostly German. It’s three syllables and ends in a N. |
| Hate Ronan and Rowan. Strongly dislike Noah. |
|
I like Rowan. I like Heath, which to me is sort of Rowan-like. I hate Ronan. Noah makes me think of "the drunkenness of..."
But it's about what YOU like, not about what I like. |
| Soren and Bowen |
| Don’t do a first name that ends in an n if your last name does. What are your girls names? |
Rowan is a boy’s name. Rowanne is the girl’s: https://www.behindthename.com/name/rowan |
Not always true. Rowan McKinnon sounds great! I love the name Rowan, OP. |
I love the name Bowen! |
|
Noah is way too popular now. I like Rowan.
What about Conor or Holden? |
| Rowen sounds like it would go better with your last name but I prefer Noah |
|
Noah is very nice.
I know a girl (she is now about 20 years old) named Roan (pronounced the same as Rowan) so it seems feminine to me. |
Not necessarily. Brooke Shields' daughter is Rowan. It's #211 on the popularity list for girls right now. #129 for boys. |
