We usually have bought our trees from COSTCO or Whole Foods but this year they looked short and scrawny. This made us think it may be fun to take our kids further away to pick up a tree maybe a nursery in the suburbs or a nearby farm.
I should add we are a bit picky, we’d be looking for a Fasier Fir or Noble Fir between 7.5 and 8 feet tall and full/ wide in diameter. ? |
Homestead farm has nice Christmas trees and the farm is very picturesque. My kids loved the animals. You can cut down your tree if that’s your thing, they do have some ready to go as well. It’s like walking into a Norman Rockwell painting or a Christmas card. |
Are you really concerned about climate change? Try not driving out to the country in your SUV to cut down a tree that’s going to be in your house for a month and require a garbage truck to take from your curb to a landfill. |
Ticonderoga farms in Chantilly has a winter fun farm type thing with admission fee. You can cut down your own or pick out the pre cut.
Cox Farms has a really nice set up with fake snow etc-no admission fee |
Many of the tree farms were hit by a fungus this year. The tree crop was hard hit. |
We are all doomed anyways. My buying a tree with my family is not going to offset what idiots with political power and in mega corporations are doing. So NO. I am not going to be concerned over this. Plus it sounds like you are already worrying enough for all of us (at least judging). Good luck fretting over gifts, wrapping paper, holiday trips, and sourcing hyper local ingredients for you meals. Sorry, not sorry! |
I make sustainable choices. Your whataboutism is helping no one. Enjoy burning gas looking for the perfect diameter tree. |
I did! We got the perfect Christmas tree and our family will have wonderful memories! |
What they said! |
Cox Farms. Totally worth the drive! |
Homestead is closed for the winter according to the website-FYI! |
